GMS was honored to receive one of Anchin’s Construction, Design, & Real Estate Industry Impact Awards for 2023. The award was presented by Anchin Accountants and Advisors, as well as their partners: the New York Building Congress, the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York, the Subcontractors Trade Association, and The Real Deal.
The Industry Impact Award recognizes construction, design, and real estate firms that engage in activities that positively influence their respective industries; the award is determined based on criteria including but not limited to the firm’s accomplishments and milestones; what sets the firm apart from its industry peers; and “impactful projects, clients, contracts, or programs that demonstrate the company’s commitment” to their industry. In our submission, GMS cited our extensive history of contributions to building codes, materials standards, our disaster reconnaissance efforts, and our staff’s involvement in community programs, such as CANStruction and the ACE Mentor Program of Greater NY.
Partner Ramon Gilsanz accepted the award at Anchin’s ceremony on June 13, 2023. Mr. Gilsanz thanked GMS’ clients, peers, the DOB, ASCE, ACEC, NCSEA, SEAoNY, and all the professional societies that gave our firm the means and opportunity to give back to our community. As Mr. Gilsanz said, GMS has been “extremely lucky to not only survive, but also to be in a position to give back.”
