Structural Engineer – Entry Level

GMS is seeking talented entry level Structural Engineers; BS in Civil/Structural Engineering is required. A Masters degree  preferred. Work under the direction Senior Engineers and Project Managers on engineering design, structural analysis and construction administration for new and existing buildings. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and Nonlinear Analysis of Structures using SAP2000, ETABs, RAM Structural SAFE software, also AutoCAD, Revit and parametric analysis software Grasshopper a plus.

Structural Inspector

Architect/Code Consultant

GMS is seeking an in-house NY State registered architect / code consultant to prepare DOB filings (file / review Alteration Type II applications and schedule / meet with examiners for approval), review plans and documentation for compliance with standards and NYC BC, work to resolve filing issues, violation search & removal, property search, and administer all filings in DOB NOW.  Knowledge of DOB NOW, NYC Building Codes and Zoning is essential.  Registration with Department of Buildings a plus but not mandatory. Administrative Assistant - Accounting Department

GMS seeks an Administrative Assistant to perform clerical duties and routine work in our Accounting Department. Duties will include reviewing proposals and opening project numbers/billing groups on a daily basis, processing and reviewing vendors’ invoices and statements, reconciling and reviewing company credit card charges, auditing employee expenses, assisting with monthly billings and mail, and performing large quantities of data entry and backing up other accounting functions as required during personnel absences.  Candidate should have general math and writing skills, data entry skills, and be detail-oriented. Experience using Deltek Vision required. A bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting or business administration is preferred.  Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting, preferably with experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment with experience in engineering or architecture. Work includes structural special inspections, field surveys, construction administration, and structural engineering design for new and existing buildings. Engineering degree required. Previous experience in construction industry preferred. ICC, ACI, and AWS inspection certifications preferred for structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and structural stability.
