GMS responded to the sudden, partial collapse of a steel frame parking deck that occurred under the weight of a snowplow removing snow at the top level. GMS performed a rapid condition assessment of the collapse area and met with local building officials to address public safety concerns, develop emergency shoring systems to stabilize the structure, and monitor controlled demolition operations. We subsequently conducted a forensic investigation to determine the source of the failure, developed construction documents for the repairs, and provided construction phase services.
