On March 10, 2014 the Hotel at 218 West 35th Street topped-out! The 38-story building is a concrete flat plate construction built on a mat foundation. The hotel was broken down into several phases. The first phase was the basement and the first four stories. The second phase involved the design of floors 5 through 42, plus the roof of the hotel, above the 4 story base. GMS continues to work very closely with SRA Architects on the structural and façade designs. GMS is serving as the Engineer on Record, the façade consultant and as the Special Inspector for the concrete construction and steel erection, bolting, and welding.
