GMS is pleased to announce the promotion of Michael Pugliese to Associate Partner and Clara Cruz to Project Manager. Additionally, we are excited to welcome Susan Haynes to the building envelope team as an Associate. We look forward to celebrating the continued accomplishments of these talented colleagues.
Michael has been with GMS since January 2014 and is a registered Professional Engineer and certified Special Inspector in New Jersey. His expertise includes the structural design of new buildings and the evaluation, renovation and repair of existing structures. Michael holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. His recent projects include renovations at The Top of the Rock and the development at Courthouse Square in Flemington, NJ, a multi-building, mixed‐use redevelopment project, which include a hotel, market rate and affordable rental apartments, and retail spaces within restored historic buildings and new construction.
Clara joined GMS in October 2021, bringing with her many years of professional experience in Europe. Most of her projects with us specialize in façade consulting and repairs such as St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers, The Grace Building, 2 Bryant Park and the landmark at 770 Broadway. She holds a master’s degree from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.
Susan has over 18 years of experience in architecture, construction, and owner representation, and she is a registered Professional Architect in New York. She joined the building envelope team in April 2024, and her projects include the façade restoration and over-cladding of 59 Maiden Lane and consulting for The Whale Building in Brooklyn. Susan earned a Master of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wayne State University.
