Alissa Oelsner Shapiro has worked with Gilsanz Murray Steficek since January 2014. Alissa holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University.
Alissa has worked on a variety of projects including new and existing buildings. Her current projects include two new residences in the Hamptons, New York, and the Yale Peabody Museum expansion and renovation which includes a four-story 65,000 sf infill addition.. In addition, she has recently completed the full building fit-out and expansion of an historic 7 story townhouse at 11 East 51st Street, the North American Headquarters – a 500,000 sf class-A office building – for an international electronics firm, located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ as well as the design and construction administration for the “white-boxing” of new retail sister stores, converting the former Times Square Toys-r-Us store into new flagships for The Gap and Old Navy.
Alissa is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in California, a member of the Structural Engineering Association of New York (SEAoNY).
