GMS provided structural engineering services for the redevelopment of this luxury, high-rise apartment complex in Midtown Manhattan. The building redevelopment included the lobby, amenity and fitness areas, and the brand-new rooftop terrace.   The lobby work included restructuring the floor levels and a new cantilevered canopy at the entrance.  The amenity space included the removal of the existing roof framing and rebuilding it to include new skylights.

Extensive structural intervention was necessary to redevelop the previously empty rooftop space into a fully functional occupiable terrace for residents. GMS designed new framing platform above the existing main roof level for the roof terrace to support all of the specialty features including shade pergola, planters, barbeque area, projection screens, screen walls and more.  To provide accessibility to the new roof terrace, GMS design the support for a new feature stair and new one-story elevator lift.
