The expansion of Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel is a major redevelopment that will transform the existing Long Island gaming and hospitality destination. The project includes approximately 110,500 square feet of expansion, a 168,000-square-foot, two-story addition, and a new three and a half level parking garage along the north side of the existing hotel. With completion of Phase 1 anticipated later this year and a project budget of approximately $210 million, the development will substantially expand the casino, hospitality, dining, entertainment, and event spaces.
The project required integrating substantial new construction with the existing hotel and casino while maintaining ongoing operations. A new double-height gaming floor connects to the second floor of the existing facility, while new event, pre-function, and back-of-house spaces connect to the third floor. The expansion will accommodate approximately 1,000 additional gaming machines and includes a new casino bar featuring a dramatic 36-foot-tall light fixture, a new cage, and a high-limit gaming area. These large, flexible spaces required careful consideration of structural grids, long-span framing, floor loading, vibration, and coordination with the extensive architectural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty systems.
One of the project’s most significant challenges is the site’s substantial change in elevation. Built into a hill with approximately a full-story grade change across the site, the development required the structural design to address varying foundation elevations, retaining conditions, and connections between the existing and new buildings. Integration with the existing structure also required careful planning of structural connections, construction sequencing, temporary conditions, and selective demolition to minimize impacts on guests, staff, and day-to-day operations. The existing facility will also undergo extensive renovations, including new elevators, restaurant spaces, and a roof terrace in Phase II.

The expansion will significantly broaden Jake’s 58’s hospitality and entertainment offerings. In addition to the expanded casino floor, the project includes a convention center, a 200-seat food hall, a three-meal restaurant, an upscale cocktail lounge, a sports tavern with outdoor space, an ultra lounge with an outdoor terrace, a boutique gift shop, and additional parking. Each of these uses introduces different structural and operational requirements, from assembly and event loading to specialized restaurant equipment and outdoor occupied spaces. The adjacent three-level parking garage also required coordination with the building additions, site grades, pedestrian circulation, and existing facilities.
