Patxi Goicolea has worked with Gilsanz Murray Steficek since June 2012, starting in New York, and now located in Los Angeles. Patxi holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University and a degree from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid with Specialization: Structural Civil Engineering.
Patxi has worked on a range of new and existing structures including office, residential and multi-purpose buildings. His recent projects include Seismic Risk assessments for a multi-national Financial Institution and Porcelanosa’s new US Flagship store which transformed an existing six-story 18,000 sf building to create a new trade/retail showroom with accessory spaces. He also completed design, construction administration and special inspections for a new residential building located in West Chelsea in Manhattan, creating an L-shaped residential building approximately 588,000 sf between one and thirty-one stories, built on piles. Patxi provided construction administration in the early stages of design for the Woolworth building located in Manhattan, a conversion of floors 30 thru 60 into residential apartments.
Patxi has also provided design of concrete portions for large podium buildings which includes a new 110 sf mixed-use development for Bob Baker Marionette Theater, a designated Los Angeles Cultural Landmark. A new 22 unit apartment building of five residential floors over commercial space for Western Avenue Apartments and 33 residential units on four levels over a two level parking garage for 555 Bonner Avenue in North Hollywood, California.
Patxi is a registered Professional Engineer in California. He is licensed as a CalOES SAP Evaluator.
