GMS worked as part of a joint venture with Perkins Eastman Architects and AKF Engineers for two, five-year term contracts for the GSA, providing structural engineering services at various project sites throughout the Northeast. We provided a wide range of studies including façade assessments, seismic evaluation, blast analysis, protective design of window systems, and progressive collapse analysis.
The team performed an extensive Façade Condition Report at the Rodino Federal Office Building, which included several independent investigations. We performed a Blast Load analysis to assess the vulnerability of the exterior windows. And we performed a follow-up test, to assess the existing window anchor’s capacity to resist pressures due to blast.
