Hotchkiss Music Arts Center and Walker Auditorium

Lakeville, CT

The Music Arts Center and Walker Auditorium renovation provides modern practice rooms, ensemble rooms, classrooms, and faculty offices. The Center’s “Pavilion” houses a 715-seat concert hall with state-of-the-art acoustics for performances and rehearsals. The design consolidates theater arts, dance arts, fine arts, and music arts on campus, and fulfills the School’s Master Plan objective of recapturing the panorama of lake and mountain.
The Center will serve as a multi-use space for a variety of school functions, ranging from a music listening room for students, to a ballroom for dinner dances, to a venue for modern dance performances. It can also accommodate regional community events and open-air concerts. The building was constructed of recycled, sustainable materials and is LEED certified. Completed in 2005.
