GMS provided structural engineering for the new three-story field house located west of the existing football field and overlooking the adjacent soccer and lacrosse field. The fieldhouse includes several strategies to reduce its carbon footprint and conserve water and energy and was built for $26M. The field house totals approximately 45,000 sf and opened in the Fall of 2025.

The building’s upper levels are constructed of 7-inch-thick composite metal deck and concrete floors supported by structural steel beams and girders. The columns are W12’s with HSS 7 x 7 tubes creating braced frames to provide lateral support. The floor-to-floor heights of up to 17’-6” provide generous ceiling heights and adequate space for MEP services.  A screen wall behind the press box shields additional MEP equipment from view. An integrated bleacher system overlooks the football field.

The field house contains locker rooms, physical therapy and coaching offices, concessions, ticketing and ancillary spaces at ground level. At the second level, the alumni Black & Gold Club room offers hospitality as well as a viewing deck and green roofs. From here fans can reach the new 1000-seat grandstand which steps down toward the field. At the third level, the Press Box can view action on both fields. In fact, the windows slide open all the way across the front and wrap around each corner providing unobstructed views for broadcasters and coaches.
