Cathy Huang, PE Associate Partner Cathy is the lead engineer for 74 Trinity Place, Virgin Hotel, QLIC, 1 Fulton Square, 350 West Broadway, 610 Broadway and 40 Mercer. She has worked at GMS since 1998; one of her first projects was the temporary installation of a 75 foot cable laser waterfall sculpture for artist Nam June Paik at New York’s Guggenheim Museum. |
| Brendan O’Malley, PE Associate Partner Brendan’s projects include the Manhattan dealerships and service centers for Mercedes, Volkswagen/Audi and BMW, data centers for major financial institutions and offices for Time Warner at Columbus Circle, Credit Suisse and several law firms. Brendan is based in our New Jersey office and works in New York as well. |

Jerry Smith, PE Associate Partner Jerry is a structural engineer working in GMS’s Building Envelope Consulting group. He brings over 30 years experience of investigation and remediation experience to problems related to buildings’ exterior walls and roofs. He has worked on renovation of a number of facade types including masonry repairs and curtain wall over-cladding and has also worked on exterior wall and roof systems for new construction projects. Jerry’s projects include 330 Madison Avenue, QLIC and the GM Plaza. |
| Carl Zanier, PE Associate Partner Carl’s projects include 837 Washington Street, new developments near the High Line, the $110 million state-of-the-art New World Symphony, and the Chelsea Hotel, as well as the fabrication and visualization study for a conceptual art sculpture by Frank Stella. Carl is one of our 3D experts. |

Minghui Lin, PhD., PE Associate Ming has worked on a wide range of projects including banks, schools, office buildings and residential buildings. His projects include the Sackett Union residence in Brooklyn, the North Star Academy in Newark, Dressbarn headquarters in Mahwah, NJ and various NYCSA school renovation projects. Before coming to GMS in 2007, he was employed at LMW Engineering Group. Ming holds a PhD. from University at Buffalo, SUNY. |
| Kristi Miro, PE Associate Kristi has worked on over 200 new ground-up LEED certified PNC bank branches in 14 states. She has designed several projects at Lenox Hill Hospital on New York’s Upper East Side including five new Cath Lab upgrades and a new Tomotherapy Suite. Kristi mentors high school students through the ACE Mentor Program. She holds an undergraduate degree in Physics from The College of the Holy Cross and a Masters in Civil Engineering from Princeton University. |

Alirio Puche, PE Associate Alirio is based in GMS’s California office. Recently, he has worked on a diverse range of projects including the 60-story Trust Tower in Abu Dhabi, a Tadao Ando-designed custom residence in Malibu, CA, the award-winning “A Noise Within” theater in Pasadena, CA and several high-end retail projects. |
| Barbara Torgerson Associate Barbara is an Associate and serves as our Human Resource and Operations Manager, overseeing the daily functions at GMS. Previously, she held the position of HR Director at Kroll, Rubin & Fiorella LLP, a 125 person law firm. |
