Senior Project Manager - Structural Engineer (LA)

GMS seeks a Senior Project Manager – Structural Engineer experienced with structural design, seismic evaluations/retrofits, construction, project management and client relationship management to work in our Los Angeles office under the direction of the Managing Partner. Duties include design of structures of varying sizes and materials, renovation, seismic evaluation and retrofit, production of construction documents, interaction with Clients, Design Team members and Builders, preparing engineering proposals and fee quotes. Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering preferred; 7-10 years of related experience; Professional Engineer (PE) and California Structural Engineer (SE) license, or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months; Proficiency in REVIT, BIM a plus.

Drafter/CAD Operator

GMS seeks a Drafter/CAD Operator to prepare design drawings, details and sketches, routine layouts, complex drawings (e.g. PFDs, P&IDs, scaled equipment layouts and equipment details), and construction documents. Work under the direction of Project Managers, Engineers and other team members as part of a coordinated design team. Candidate needs to be proficient in AutoCAD; have knowledge of developing and preparing design documentation in written and computer-aided design formats. Experience with REVIT a plus. Associates degree in Structural or Architectural Technology, and 1-3 years of experience, or AAS in Computer Integrated Technology with 2+ years of experience with engineering design firm.

Administrative Assistant - Accounting Department

GMS seeks an Administrative Assistant to perform clerical duties and routine work in our Accounting Department. Duties will include reviewing proposals and opening project numbers, reviewing and processing vendor statements and invoices, overseeing and maintaining company credit cards, auditing employee expenses, assisting with monthly billings and mail, performing large quantities of data entry and backing up other accounting functions as required during absences.  Candidate should have general math and writing skills, data entry skills, and be detail-oriented. Educational background in Accounting or Finance and previous accounts payable experience preferred.  Experience using Deltek Vision a plus.

Building Envelope Consultant

GMS is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to work in partnership with other Architects & Structural Engineers in developing project documents, inspecting and documenting exterior building envelope elements, making technical decisions based on established architectural principles, coordinating interfaces with other disciplines, performing site surveys and investigations, reviewing shop drawings, preparing written inspection reports, developing construction details for exterior building envelope elements, resolution of field construction problems and attendance at coordination meetings with Architects & Engineers.  Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/foreign equivalent + 5 months progressive experience as Assistant Project Manager required.
