Jennifer Lan has worked with Gilsanz Murray Steficek on new construction projects and renovations since she was an intern in 2007. Her projects include the new Virgin Hotel, a new 600,000 sf residential development for Avalon Bay Communities in West Chelsea, the Herb Alpert Educational Village in Santa Monica, engineering the glass facades and roofs at several Apple stores and the full gut renovation for the Porcelanosa flagship store at Madison Square Park.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from MIT and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Stanford. She is a Registered Professional Structural Engineer and Civil Engineer in California as well as being a LEED AP. She also serves on the seismic subcommittee working to write the ASCE 7 code-minimum loads for Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures and serves as a “teaching consultant” at the Yale School of Architecture.
