837 Washington Street

The existing building at 837 Washington Street was a landmark within the Gansevoort Market Historic District. GMS preserved the original façade while building a new steel exoskeleton with sloping columns and twisting floor plates. The completed building provides 55,000 square feet of retail and office space. The project attained LEED-CS (Core & Shell) v2009 Silver Certification.

Samsung occupies 28,000 square feet of destination retail space at the cellar, ground and second floor levels, with 7,000 square feet dedicated to outdoor space and 27,000 square feet dedicated to office space on the third through sixth floors. The retail space features a theater, a broadcast booth and production facilities to promote the creation of content for Samsung online services.
