Joseph T. Blanchfield founded the building envelope group at Gilsanz Murray Steficek in 1999, and retired in 2020. Joe was responsible for many of the firm’s most successful high-rise curtain wall projects, re-cladding projects and façade restoration projects including: 520 West 28th Street, 160 Leroy Street, 330 Madison Avenue, and the restoration of the Wintergarden at the World Financial Center (now Brookfield Place) after 9/11. Joe leaves behind a strong envelope team lead by partners Achim Hermes and Susanne Mackiw.
