Umbilic Torus

The Umbilic Torus sculpture created by artist and mathematician Helaman Ferguson was dedicated in October 2012 at the Simon’s Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University.
GMS provided structural engineering services for the foundation design, analysis of the bronze shell, design of the internal support structure, and inspections of the welding and installation.
