The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems
are the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation
of sustainable high performance green buildings, homes and neighborhood developments
as established by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
Structurally, both steel and concrete are recyclable although concrete at times may be more
advantageous due to its thermal mass.
As structural engineers, our contribution to meet desired sustainability and LEED™
targets is to help minimize the budget impact from HVAC systems on the structure.
We will work with the MEP to keep the project coordinated through all stages.
Our Building Envelope Group can perform a thorough analysis of the façade for compliance
with the Energy Conservation Code of New York State.
We currently have staff members who are LEED™ certified.
